Refund and cancellation policy | Smartdataintegration
Refund, cancellation, rescheduling, and deposit rules for Smartdataintegration financial auditing engagements in Taiwan.
Scope
This policy applies to professional engagements with Smartdataintegration — statutory audits, interim reviews, internal control assessments, and readiness checks. Website content itself is free; refunds concern fees paid under an engagement letter.
Eligibility
Refunds are available only for amounts paid to us under a signed engagement letter. Informal email estimates create no payment obligation and no refund pathway.
Timeframe to request
Submit refund or cancellation requests in writing to info@smartdataintegration.digital within 14 days of the event giving rise to the request (for example, cancellation notice or disputed invoice date), unless the engagement letter sets a different window.
Full refunds
A full refund of any unused deposit applies if we cancel the engagement for reasons within our control before fieldwork begins, or if we fail to commence work within a materially delayed window solely due to our staffing — subject to the engagement letter.
Partial refunds
If you cancel after planning has begun but before substantial fieldwork, we retain fees for time already incurred (planning, risk assessment, preliminary review) at the rates in the letter, and refund any unused deposit balance. Once substantive testing or on-site observation has started, fees for work performed are non-refundable; remaining prepaid amounts for unfinished phases may be refunded on a pro-rata basis after deduction of committed third-party costs.
Non-refundable items
- Time already billed for completed procedures
- External confirmation fees already paid to third parties
- Travel costs incurred for scheduled inventory observations or site visits
- Work product already delivered (draft findings, readiness memos, issued reports)
Deposits
Where an engagement letter requires a deposit to reserve fieldwork dates, the deposit is applied to the final invoice. It is refundable only as described above for unused portions after deductions for work performed and committed costs.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Cancel or reschedule in writing. Rescheduling with at least 10 business days’ notice before the agreed kickoff is usually accommodated without penalty, subject to team availability. Shorter notice may incur a rescheduling charge reflecting irrecoverable preparation time, disclosed before the new dates are locked.
No-shows and unreadiness
If fieldwork cannot proceed because schedules, access, or named liaisons are unavailable on agreed dates, we may charge for the reserved days. A new timetable will be proposed; additional fees may apply.
Work already started
Once testing, interviews, or observation have begun, you remain responsible for fees covering procedures completed and for an orderly wind-down if you terminate the engagement early.
Purchased materials
We rarely purchase client-specific materials. If specialized reports or confirmations are bought for your engagement with prior approval, those costs are pass-through and non-refundable once ordered.
Refund method and processing time
Approved refunds are returned via the original payment method when possible, or by bank transfer to the paying entity. Processing typically takes 10–20 business days after approval, depending on banks in Taiwan.
How to request
Email info@smartdataintegration.digital with your engagement reference, company name, reason for the request, and payment details used. You may also call +886222047894. We confirm receipt within one business day and outline next steps.
Exceptions
Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under Taiwan law. Engagement letters may contain additional terms that prevail for that matter when signed after you have had opportunity to review them.
