What fieldwork felt like from the other side of the table

Comments from finance leads who commissioned statutory audits, reviews, and control assessments with us.

“They flagged cut-off issues our own team had missed for two periods. Fieldwork ran into a Saturday for the inventory count, which nobody loved, but the lender accepted the revised pack on the first submission.”
Mei-Ling Chen · Finance lead, electronics distributor, New Taipei
“The readiness check before our first statutory audit saved us from scrambling for lease files mid-week. I wish we had booked it a month earlier — we still spent two late nights on related-party schedules.”
Arthur Chang · Controller, specialty chemicals importer
“Hana’s control assessment did not invent problems. She showed where purchase approvals still lived in chat messages and how that would look under audit sampling. We fixed the approval trail before year-end testing began.”
Yi-Jun Park · Operations director, contract packaging firm
“Interim review turnaround was fine for our board pack. Queries were precise. I would have preferred fewer emails copying every junior on our side, but the conclusions were easy to present upstairs.”
Sofia Huang · CFO, regional logistics group

Credit-line renewal for a multi-warehouse trader

A New Taipei distributor needed an unmodified opinion within eight weeks of period end to renew a revolving facility. Ledgers were largely complete, but three bonded warehouses had never been observed by an auditor.

We scheduled counts over two consecutive evenings, tested cut-off on high-value SKUs, and issued the opinion three days ahead of the bank’s internal committee date. Management later used the same warehouse map for the following year’s planning.
